After almost a decade of hiding in the shadows, the Ninja is back. Korean pop phenomenon and actor Rain plays the dangerous Ninja Raizo in Warner Bros. Pictures’ forthcoming action thriller Ninja Assassin, directed by James McTeigue. “Raizo is picked up from the streets and transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan. But when he finally becomes an assassin, he rejects the clan and makes it his mission to stop them from what they are doing,” said James.
For Rain, this film is a dream come true. “He’s a sexy character and is so tough. There are big fights and he kills many with swords, chains, punches, Shuriken. It’s a wild movie,” said Rain, who is all praises for the director. “James is the best. He has amazing abilities. There are some amazing visual effects in the film that people have probably never seen before,” said the actor who’s cast opposite 28 Days Later and the Pirates of the Caribbean actress Naomie Harris who plays Europol agent Mika Coretti in Ninja Assassin.
The adventure kicks off in Berlin, where Raizo saves Mika from a team of killers sent by Ozuno. “Raizo intervenes and then they go on the run together and, through her knowledge of the Ninja and the research that she’s been doing, she helps him find his way back to the source of his whole problem, which is the orphanage and the Sensei,” revealed the director. The film also stars Ben Miles, legendary martial arts performer Sho Kosugi and Rick Yune and will release on November 27.
